Over indulging

It's great having foodie neighbours. Today Grace and I took the Park & Ride into town for a look around the vegan fair (neither one of us are vegan. She's a vegetarian, I'm a vegan until there's a plate of meat in front of me).

We had vegan samosas and pakoras at the vegan fair, non-vegan spring rolls at the market hall, washed down with some local gin that was being exhibited at Tanners. Thank goodness we were on the bus. Later on that evening (as is becoming somewhat of a regular thing) Grace was cooking and brought over some spares: paneer spring rolls. Delicious.

We also met our most recent Cartwright Close resident, Emma, who is taking over from Andrew as head of philosophy at Shrewsbury School, and has also taken over Andrew and Sue's vacated house. She's lovely and well fit in very well around here.

My main achievements of the day were re-waterproofing coats and boots after yesterday (probably a day too late) and making pesto from basil that I've grown from seed. I'm going to make such a great retiree when I get there.

A brief stop at Fran's leaving party this evening.
