Nighttime

I wake at five. Too early.

I get up and set about some quiet tasks researching lenses and other hardware for a stereo camera.

As per my normal sleep cycle, I’m getting tired by seven in the morning, and crawl back off to bed. I wake again at eleven. Much of the day has gone, and the bedside tea has cooled, but I am well rested.

Not much happens in the afternoon, except helping Freya and her friend a bit with the treehouse.

Freya is away for a sleepover, and I spend the late evening working on some software for startup two. It goes well, and I enjoy coding at my new standing desk which is almost in the garden.

Settling down to read later on, I notice it’s gone dark, for the first time since early May.

The first nighttime since the solstice.
