A sweltering day in London
And it was fabulous.
Ok, the number 14 bus from Euston to the V and A wasn’t comfy, but I love just looking through the window. I always spot something new, or something unusual.
I was meeting a good friend who was brought up in North London but didn’t get to see some famous places. We’ve previously been to the Tate Britain, to the Science Museum, to the British Museum, and today it was the turn of the Victoria and Albert Museum.
Straightaway I headed for a coffee in the lovely central courtyard. Those Victorians knew how to build - a fantastic fresh breeze.
What I hadn’t realised was that the classical ornamental pool was a magnet for the toddlers of Knightsbridge. Whole families turned up prepared, and much splashing and sailing of various crafts was enjoyed. I’d have loved to get a couple of close ups but the age we live in make it sadly dubious.
Suffice it to say, this was early on and it got livelier.
A fabulous explore of the exhibits......and a super lunch at Ognisko on Exhibition Road....classic Polish cuisine......and their home produced Cherry Vodka
