Farewell then Sir Bob

The first of the statues in George Square are to be removed in February as part of a major revamp.
Good, I'm glad to see the back of them. They give entirely the wrong impression of Glasgow. It's historically a working-class, left-wing city but the main square is populated by English Tory MPs like Sir Robert Peel here, An Edinburgh poet, Victoria and Albert and others.
We have two Glasgow born Prime Ministers, Gordon Brown and Henry Campbell-Bannerman plus one who was educated here, Andrew Bonar Law. Shipbuilding was our claim to fame and produced great leaders. So why not statues of some of these guys to replace the existing ones.
Just my opinion of course.
