A Stately Home Someone Loved
Sadly, it’s abandoned now. But at one time I’m guessing a family, probably a large family, graced its many rooms, and children laughed & played in the yard. It sits along a short, one-block road which connects 2 major 4-lane (today) highways, just another block South of where these 2 highways merge. I’m also guessing that when built, it was the only home along this brief stretch of road. It saddens me that a home constructed with such grandeur rests abandoned. It’s on the edge of a small historic city, Bordentown NewJersey, which graces the Delaware River. Who built it? What happened to the family? Did the parent’s business fail, forcing the family to move? Where did the children go? Curiosity has gotten the better of me and I think I’ll do a little research with the town historian next week.
