Sundown Swimming
More visitors for a meal today. Steph, our French friend, brought Sr Carlos and an architect from Goa, who is doing post-Masters research comparing mud construction in Goa and the Alentejo. Like the Sertão in NE Brazil, there are historical links, so it was interesting discussing the mud constructions there, and the problems with Chagas Disease.
So far this week, then, we've had here nine Dutch, six Portuguese, one Venezuelan, one Belgian, and one Goan. Oh yes, and one French.
The heat today was even more unbearable. Mike rigged up a camping stove by the BBQ to not add cooking heat to the building, and it was bearable till the afternoon. Then I sat in the wine vat until about an hour after sundown, when decided really needed to take Lula swimming. It was still 40C, and the water like soup, and I don't mean ice-cold gazpacho.
