Not looking happy
This prunus serrula is suffering from the drought. It's one of three that were already in the garden when we moved in. We had to have it moved when we had the pond dug three years ago. But I have to admit, we never considered it might be still vulnerable. We've been watering all the younger trees, planted in the last couple of year, but we've not been worrying about the more established trees around the garden, we thought they would all be fine - it seems we were wrong. Maybe it will recover over the winter. If not, we'll regard it as an opportunity to get a different tree!
I noticed yesterday as I was leaving work that some of the trees and shrubs in the hospital grounds are looking distinctly unhappy. It really has been exceptionally dry and hot.
