Corbridge Chamber Music Festival
This is the place to be this weekend for the best of classical music.
It's the 20th Corbridge Chamber Music Festival. Our friends the Gould Piano Trio with Robert Plane have brought along some wonderful musician friends. One is Adam Walker, principal flute with the LSO. The first concert opened with Mozart's flute quartet K285. Absolutely magical.
We then heard the Francaix Clarinet Quintet. I've not heard this before. It was lyrical - not enough for me - and quirky. Great fun.
Then we heard Brahms Piano Trio in B, no 8. The music washed around us. A tremendous performance in high temperatures.
We are going back at 9.30pm for a Tango concert, including Piazzolla. Can't wait.
Here you see Robert Plane giving Mum a hug after the first concert.
