High up above the Tyne

We arrived in Newcastle to rain, but it soon cleared and it was a lovely warm afternoon and evening. We managed some glimpses of ‘The Great Exhibition of the North’. The Glenn Brown art exhibition at the Laing was excellent, the various art installations at the Baltic were, as usual, a little odd.

But best by far was the view of the Kittiwakes, high up on the ledges of the Baltic, and viewable from the 4th floor viewing platform. Amazing! Great to watch the young ones, now quite grown up and trying out their flying skills. Not officially a part of the Exhibition, but they certainly should be.

Now we are at The Sage for a Nordic Summer Night of Chamber Music.
