St Mary in the Marsh.

This is the village on Romney Marsh that features in the novels by AJ Mackenzie. They're set around 1800 amidst the local smuggling scene and general local fears of a possible French invasion. The village is so like the books: a pub with a creaking sign, a church, a rectory and a small number of houses. Most of all, it's incredibly quiet and cut off. Worth a visit if you're passing. The books are most definitely worth a read.
