Festival of Lights

It's Diwali today, so G & I set out after sunset to downtown Bur Dubai to see (and blip) Diwali lights!

It would appear that Hindus have converged on two particular areas of Dubai and it was super seeing all the different lights put out. Unfortunately, I didn't take my stand, so this is the best pic I got of a decorated building.

Very close to it, on an empty bit of land (unusual for that part of Dubai), people had come down with bags of fire crackers and were enjoying setting them off. Some of them were incredibly loud when they exploded. One small family just had sparklers which looked a bit safer. This little girl was gorgeous all decked out in her Diwali clothes.

PS. Found the windmills we went out looking for yesterday! Good 'ol Daiso.
