Bolty
The Qorna Souk was beyond hectic this morning! I have been going each Tuesday for quite a number of years now, yes it is always busy, but today there was an extra energy to the place?
Could it because the temperature has dropped so much?
Maybe people are happy to go out shop and be even more vocal in the Winter months?
Could there be a feast looming?
The selection of vegetables today, was wonderful. After a few summer months of having soggy tomatoes and dry cucumber, the cooler months have brought fresh, healthy succulent ware and all at a very, very good price!
On average most things were 1le(10p) a kilo.
A kilo of new potatoes, turnips, tomatoes, lemons, courgette, onions, cucumber, fresh coriander, all for 1 English pound. And this is why it was so busy. The first Qorna Winter Souk setting precedence, with the finest and biggest selection of fresh fruit, vegetables and sadly, chicken, pigeon and fish etc
This is the Bolty Fish, after it was COOKED
