Shugborough today
Every year, I’ve included a visit to Shugborough Hall during my Big Butterfly Counts. The National Trust have not made the most of the “Butterfly garden” since theytook over but the gardens are still a haven for butterflies.
Far fewer than in previous years, except for the hundreds of Whites.
I did catch quite a few sunny spells and managed to see two Painted Lady friends and an elusive Comma.
It was great to spend quality time with a very dear friend, and I managed the walk down from the car park with few I’ll effects (although I cheated and hitched a return ride with the buggy.)
