The Old Gravel Pit

This scene really should not be so beautiful, it is a filled in gravel pit (which makes it great for swimming), there is 20 metres between it and the motorway (see the barriers if you click here for large., there are electric pylons with their great swinging wires going across the lake, you can even see smoke from factories in this picture of some of the wild-life there. Yet at this time of year it is beautiful but still noisy from the traffic, which I managed to keep out of this picture!
