Solo hike

Up in the Mt. Baker area today... I went on the Paul Scott Trail which is on the south side of Mt. Baker. This guy Paul was working on this trail when he was killed in a pretty horrific way so they named the trail after him.

I think it's the most beautiful trail I've ever hiked on and you have seen some pictures of my hikes in WA. There may be one in CA that I hold in slightly higher esteem.

Every which way I turned, around every corner, another spectacular view. The trail also had its challenges which makes for a more enjoyable hike - in this picture, I'm standing on the top of a ridge, and it's pretty much straight down on both sides. The stream crossings included a ladder-like bridge over one tumbling cascade (same kind of ladders they use to cross crevasses on the mountain), the second was a swinging cable bridge (see extra), and the last 2 big crossings were hop from rock to rock crossings. Made the first one but got both legs up to my shins wet in the second one.

With the 5 hours of driving, I'm SO tired.... but in a good way.
