The Dalesman

Awake at stupid o'clock, as we had a promising day ahead of us. Firstly a drive over to Skipton to meet up with good friends. The. to Skipton stationfor a day trip on a steam train, up to Carlise, which included breakfast and dinner on return.

The Pullman carriages are beautifully refurbished, the food was first class, staff couldnt do enough for us, a great day out!

Todays main blip is the Dalesman steam engine as we arrived at the Citadel Station in Carlisle. There are three extras of the engine too!

We had a couple of hours wander around Carlise, before our return journey at 4.30, back to Skipton at 8ish, having changed engines from Steam to Diesel at Hellefield.

Great views over the Ribblehead viaduct, although no advantage points on the train to get a decent shot of it :-(

We had a doddle of a drive home, back around 9.15..........still feeling stuffed after our four courses even now, at 11.50pm.

Time for bed now me thinks, nite all zzzzzzz
