Happy Retirement & 60th Birthday!

We had the busiest and funnest day - crazy weather rollercoaster that eventually worked out in our favour. Poured rain all morning, ending about 2:00. Our big event started at 4:00 and weather couldn't have been better! We had just shy of 100 guests at the rowing club and on the beautiful patio (partly covered with large canopies). Appies 4:00-6:00, a taco bar at 6:00 & a strawberry shortcake station at 7:00. The caterers were outstanding! Massive bar with anything that anyone could want. Our good friend the caterer is the very best and had everything taken care of. Other than having to put up & take down 3 large canopies, our only responsibility was to mingle, visit & enjoy. It was over so quickly, 5 hours just flew by! We were home and unpacking by 10:30 & in bed at 12:30 - utterly exhausted but all grinning ear to ear. My sweetie was thrilled! There were no speeches, toasts or roasts, as per his request. Instead it was a celebration of his friendships - family, high school, 3 different rowing clubs, Olympians - fabulous! We are still waiting for the official photographer's photos, but this is my photo of our family in attendance! Sharing the love...it really was soooooo lovely.
