Car Share

Haven’t taken photos today, so whilst awaiting my car share buddy I took a photo of a poster on the wall. The event has clearly passed.

Every year for years now a lot of time is spent working out which budgets and services to cut next. Most local authority money comes from government grant, not Council Tax. Since 2010 Salford’s revenue budget has reduced by over 50%. More cuts have to be made for next year, so some very difficult choices and decisions lie ahead.

Heaven knows where this will all end. Northamptonshire CC effectively went bankrupt this year, others may follow. It’s those who rely on the services who are the ultimate losers. It does feel at times as if this country is going backwards, not forwards.
