Sunet and I went to The Boathouse at Glencaple this morning. It was the first time I'd been to this cafe, which has a beautiful situation overlooking the River Nith. I'd been meaning to go for ages, as they have a brilliant menu with lots of vegan choices. It was great - the service was especially good; the staff who served us were young and very helpful. I will be back!

Afterwards we went for a walk around the Crichton gardens. I remembered how much I had enjoyed my journey to college through these grounds, and how we had been sent out with our cameras and a roll of film at the very beginning of the course, to take photos of whatever took our fancy.

Today this tree caught our eye. A perfect place for a portrait.
