Busy Day

Day off today. This morning I attended the Lauriston Castle lecture "Shrapnel & Whizzbangs - a Tommy in the trenches". As these massive events recede into history it becomes more & more important to remember them and the lessons they should have taught us.
After tea and cake there was a tour of the castle, an interesting place, well worth a visit.

This afternoon I continued my quest to bring order to my flat - it's definitely in the "it looks worse before it gets better" stage.

This evening I met up with friends for dinner, then off to a talk by Doug Allan - an inspiring speaker and outstanding wildlife photographer, I was particularly taken with his Antarctic dive photos. All in all a very busy but enjoyable day.
