Midlothian Countryside

Just a quick ride planned for Sunday as rain is forecast from 12pm onwards. So I head out to Midlothian, planning to do a similar ride to Wednesday, but through Roslin Glen and Bonnyrigg to Middleton. It goes ok and I pass through Carrington quite quickly. Unfortunately, the rear mech fails. I have to hastily convert the gearing to single speed to get me home.

I head back to Carrington, the take  direct route back to Roslin Glen. The blip shows the view across the fields above the glen with the Pentlands on the left, and Arthur's Seat on the right. I do have to descend in to Roslin Glen, but push the bike up the steep part of the road heading out of the glen on the west side, before cycling home. It does start raining at this point, but its not heavy, and I get home ok. You can see the ride at Relive here.

A quiet afternoon. Did some work on the broken bits on the bike, and edited some photos. Weather was too wet really to go out. Coffee at home, with a snickers bar for a snack.

Last stage of the Tour de France today, so I catch the highlights in the evening, then get things ready for work on Monday.
