Storm Clouds over Gigha

I was on Gigha for most of today.  In the morning I met with  some  of the Directors of the Community Trust which owns the island  and in the afternoon with some of the members of the trust.  All involved are resident islanders themselves for Gigha was bought by the community more than 15 years ago.   Although such a situation presents challenges from time to time , they are being risen to with courage and determination. 

It was (mostly) a lovely day but just occasionally there was a heavy, squally, downpour.   I took this from the pier whilst  were waiting for the ferry and whilst the community owned moorings and pontoons are just out of shot  it does show the  excellent "Boathouse" restaurant which , like everything on this lovely island, is very much worth a visit.

By the time we got on to the ferry the rain was pelting down.
