Sunday ride

Weekends tend to be fairly busy for us as it's the only 2 days my love has off. I'm grateful he's a hard worker and enjoys completing projects.  Good thing as we have a l o n g list of to do's!  All in time.  We have years. :) Having been raised on a farm, he has a feel for the land and is especially good at beautifying our surroundings.  The difference of his handiwork on the property in the 6 weeks we've been here is amazing.

This past week has been quiet in terms of trades but starting Monday we're back at it again.  It gave us the opportunity to settle in a bit more.  We moved furniture into our Great Room and the table and chairs into the dining room. Still no kitchen, fingers crossed that's supposed to be happening this week, so I'm still cooking on my camp stove in the garage and washing dishes in the bathroom sink.

What's most exciting is that my 2 daughters and 4 grandkids are coming for a visit!!!  I've fixed up the little cabin for daughter #1 and 3 grandkids and made a makeshift bedroom in the basement for daughter #2 and my grandson.  They will be entering our chaos and unsettledness but I know will roll with it well. Timing wise this week the bathrooms will be worked on, so there'll be times without access to the toilet and water.  (We have an outhouse!)  I'm expecting the kitchen cabinets at some point this week as well as the painter again to finish off the bathrooms.  So all that to say, alot going on with 6 extra bodies around and littles underfoot but we'll spend more time outdoors.  Our temperatures are in the low 30's so it's hot but thankfully not humid.

Back to the Sunday ride...one of my favourite things so far, is to jump on the back of our quad and let my love take me away.  To feel the wind on my face and leave the work and cares behind.  Life is good...
