A day at the beach...

...and it done me good.

My husband and I took our traditional trip to the beach for our anniversary. We were a bit nervous about how our favorite place would look due to taking a direct hit from hurricane Sandy. We weren't even sure if we were allowed on the island. Well, we were. The boardwalk was completely gone as was the pier. All the benches were gone like if they have never been there, not even a sign of them. The tall lamp post were leaning on their sides. Huge sand piles were everywhere because the sand had to be plowed like snow off the streets. But one thing that seem untouched or replaced was this cross on the beach. That to me was a beautiful thing as this place is a Christian beach community. We had lunch at our favorite place in town and everything there seemed to be fine. It was just amazing to see what power nature can have, blows me away. All said and done it could have been alot worst. I will be looking forward to the summer season and see how they will rebuild. It was a good day!
