Burst of evening light over Thrupp meadows

The rain lasted most of the day under gloomy grey clouds and sharp squalls bent the trees over. As I ate my evening meal I saw the clouds breaking up and bursts of sunshine illuminated swathes of the landscape over Thrupp and on Minchinhampton Common in the far distance. 

The twenty-four hours of heavy rain have already darkened the parched grasslands and brought a bit of greener colour to the meadows. The trees look fine. The sunshine didn't last for very long,
