Wet, wet and wetter
First day of the Lakes Orienteering and what a way to start! It was raining as we left Grasmere for the walk high on Siver Howe. This is a view on the way to the start towards Helm Crag. It poured down all the way round the course making it very difficult to relate map to ground when streams were springing up all over.
On the way back down it was like walking under a waterfall. Stephen had in the meantime enjoyed a full Lakeland Breakfast which he took great delight in describing as we peeled ourselves out of saturated clothing!
However we did receive a piece of Grasmere gingerbread at download.
Tomorrow is now in doubt due to a potentially waterlogged car park. The joys of Lakeland Orienteering.
