Sandwood Bay
Breakfast in Ullapool at a place that also sells tent pegs. Then onwards and northwards.
This holiday will be interspersed by frantic seeking of WiFi as we try to stay on top of the building warrant issue. It’s looking increasingly unlikely that we’ll complete next Tuesday.
We get to Sandwood Bay car park mid afternoon. It’s raining, so we sit on the car waiting for it to clear. Then, a five mile walk to the “Best beach in Europe”. It’s amazing! Not completely empty, but huge, clean, and gorgeous.
We find an ideal campsite, high up on the dunes, sheltered to the south, with a spectacular view north and east. I cook lentil soup and we retire early to escape the midges. There is no firewood anywhere.
