Not so cute

I battled with the wind on my walk this morning (nothing personal, please note) but still managed to catch a few butterfly shots.  The tally this morning was one Brown Argus, several Common Blues, Gatekeepers, Meadow Browns, Ringlets, Speckled Woods, lots of Large Whites and two Silver Washed Fritillaries.

I was quite taken with this fly which doesn't have a common name, but on checking my insect book have decided I don't like it.  I won't go into details, but it's not friendly.
