Fungi Combo
As promised by the weatherman, it rained all day and was thoroughly miserable. Nothing much to inspire a blipper so I decided a day off might be called for.
By late afternoon the light was fading fast and I was busying myself chopping up kindling in the garage for our wood burners. As I brought more wood in I noticed an assortment of fungi and moss growing on an old rotting log near the garage. It had blip potential, but as the light had gone I lifted the log and put it on my workbench where I could get plenty of light on it.
There was certainly plenty of living material on the log, in fact it was almost like a small community. I am sorry to say I don't know my fungi very well and other than Stag Horn in the foreground can't identify any of them. As our garden has been covered in hundreds of the brown wet looking ones for the past month, I really should learn more about them!
Thanks for all the stars and hearts that helped get yesterday's striped sunrise into the front page of Spotlight. I think we might see more of that one!
