Mountains!

yes, we finally were able to get our mountain hike in on a gorgeous day through amazingly beautiful country.  We headed to Lake Brainard (elevation 10,600 ft or 3,300 m) for a 4-hr hike that was surprisingly easy in spite of the abrupt change in elevation from Boulder (+5,000 ft) but our daughter's become quite the 'mountain guide' and picked the perfect hike. 

We even beat the thunderstorms that rolled in just as we loaded back into the car.  A quick stop at a French bakery for a chocolate-almond petit pain and a good cup of coffee and I can put my feet up and rest :) Great day!
