Goodbye puddles!

Improvements are well underway along The Calder and Hebble Navigation Towpath and The Rochdale Canal Towpath. The facelift these canals are receiving includes some resurfacing, pointing cobbled area, clearing away overgrown vegetation and trying to solve some drainage issues...not to mention better signage.

It's much needed as many of the towpaths have really suffered with the flooding in recent years and struggled to recover.

The first phase of the scheme has taken place between Sowerby Bridge and Hebden Bridge, but also extended back towards Copley. As a result, it was a pleasure to stroll along the newly tarmacked towpath today!
