Grounding
This is living arch is in the garden at the Tuppenny Barn where I went to yoga this evening. It was another beautiful sunny evening so we did our practice outside, watching the swifts and house martins flying overhead in the blue sky. I will miss this when it is cold and we are in the draughty barn!
Tonight our practice was focussed on 'grounding' - partly as it was hot and so we wanted to do less vigorous movements and also as we were outside it meant we could do some of the positions on the grass. It was quite interesting to feel the difference it made, trying to balance with your feet on the lumpy grass with all the sensations of the dry ground beneath you.
Last night, at a different yoga class, our practice was based around the moon - as there is an eclipse of the moon tonight. I'm hoping to get to see the blood moon, although I am not sure I am skilled enough to get a good photo of it.
I'm hoping to get a tour of the Tuppenny Barn garden. I'd be interested to know how they made the arch - it is so twisted - I imagine the willow (or whatever it is, was allowed to grow quite tall, before they began to twist it) - although I have no knowledge of such things so may be completely wrong!
I'm also interested to know what they grow and how, given the local soil and weather conditions. I'm hoping I'll be able to transfer some of what I learn to my new allotment. I'm enjoying thinking about what I will grow. I'm thinking that I am going to try to grow quite a range of herbs and flowers. I'm enjoying chamomile tea and chamomile baths at the moment so I think Chamomile will be high on my list!
