bug island

This morning was was coffee in neighbouring village Beauville (in extra) and then back to meet up with my new photographer friends and experts in all things bugs and butterflies. The main blip is the robber fly, doing, well ....you can see what, then in extra we have Graphosoma lineatum (red striped shield bugs also doing it. The butterflies are marble white and some type of fritillary that I have already forgotten. Finally we have another first for me,  a fan-tailed warbler, that is apparently at its most northern limits here in SW France. I learned a lot from Mark and Richard and will hopefully will get more time with them during the week.
To complete the day we are off to the night food market at St Mauren.
