Brockholes Nature Reserve - Preston

Went to a local nature reserve today with my sister and her grandchildren. One of the children put his hand in the dipping pond and came out with this. I didn't have time to worry about taking a photograph and went for a quick snap. I was more concerned about getting the tiny newt back in the water and out of the sun. 

Today I learned that if you want to find crickets and other bugs in the grass, you need to borrow a 3-4 year old. These little humans are so much closer to the ground and they have better hearing and sight. :-)
