The village of Mardale Green was deliberately flooded in 1935to make way for Haweswater reservoir...

The village has reemerged because of the heat wave...

Mind blowing to think that the pub, post office and houses have been underwater for over 80 years!

We walked for ages along the dry part of the reservoir and enjoyed our picnic there, too!

Mr Whippy’s van had parked near our car, so we had an ice cream to finish off a perfect day!!!
