Another spiny cactus trumpet flower

I had to blip this flower today as it arrived this morning and will be gone by tomorrow, withered and fulfilled, hopefully. Last night I spotted the elongated stem from which the flower would open.

It is the second time this array of spiny cacti have produced flowers the first being six weeks ago when they were still housed in the cabin. I brought them into the house to observe them more closely and then forgot them as they were hidden beside some other tall plants at the end of the table.

I photographed them at tea time when Helena came home after work with Helen, a good friend who was passing through Stroud en route to the Newhaven ferry taking her to visit her house in central France.
