cruising

Early start in Cologne. Somehow the alarm clock didn't work but we got up in time and just made it to the train station. Relaxed high-speed ride to Amsterdam. We locked up our luggage (I was quite impressed we managed to stow away the big suitcase) and hit town. Amsterdam is ridiculously busy with tourists. We decided to go on a boat cruise to admire the grachten. The cruise was excellent with free drinks, great views and expert commentary. It was also a good way to avoid the masses. After the cruise we had another hour to wander around and have some ice cream. Then transfer to boat and journey North. The food improved a lot and we were all happy with the buffet dinner.
