An apt appeal to liberality

Recycling PET bottles by the deposit/return system (= paying a small surplus which you get back when you return the bottle)is a totally common place thing in The Netherlands. Our regular supermarket has set up charity boxes next to the deposit/return automatons, so that you can give your return slip to charity instead of recollecting the surplus money. The receiving charities  get changed every couple of months. It's totally voluntary and up to everyone whether they want to donate if and when they can. I think it's a very good idea. And it's definitely ticking some boxes for generosity/good deeds.  Charity, generosity and liberality  (freely spending money for others when possible without being forced to do so ) Thought about this when Googling the sins and virtues for the MonoMonday theme (I'd never heard of the English term 'liberality' before) and then had an etymological Google about the differences between liberal, liberality and libertarian :-)

Which in its turn made me think about that wonderful song from Supertramp ('watch what you say or they'll be calling you a radical,
liberal, oh fanatical, criminal'), btw, I don't mind being called a liberal, there  are definitely worse things to be called ;-)

Anyway, many thanks to sb_i for hosting this month of MonoMondays and has given much food for thought with the sins/virtues theme.

Thanks so much for your kind comments and stars for yesterday's apple pie celebratory Blip with the AT160 results !
