Waxeye at the estuary gardens
Trev and I got a walk there this morning quite early- 9.15am. No frost so quite warm. This tree was alive with waxeyes and a couple of fantails. So good to see waxeyes that aren't sitting on a jar feeding. Difficult to get and both a bit "soft" in focus but I rather liked this one peeping out. The extra shows one perched on high. I had to crop heavily to get them to show up.
We watched the mens rugby 7's finals which NZ won. Very exciting.
There has been a snow warning for the Takaka Hill overnight. So winter not over yet.
