Garlic Flower

I'm not a fan of garlic at all but the flower caught my eye.  It's really pretty up close with a delicate garlic odor and can be used in cooking for a less intense garlic flavor.  I think most growers cut the flower off so the plant's energy goes to the underground bulb.  

This was in my grandson's garden which he and his wife are lovingly nursing along.  They sent me home with a basket full of green beans, some carrots and a couple of potatoes.  I steamed them all and had a wonderful dinner with veggies picked less than two hours before.  Now I wish I had a little garden!
