Birds

We had a lazy day today. It drizzled most of the day, anyway. We had a BBQ on the terrace then watched the Formula 1. Later, I caught a juvenile Blue Tit eating the nuts with a juvenile sparrow looking on. At first I thought it was our fat little resident sparrow which I have put in extras. The poor little thing hops around the yard for most of the day eating constantly. It only flies away if we get really close. Its feathers are a mess and some of the wing feathers are bent upwards. I wonder if it is the bird I heard banging into the kitchen window 3 times the other day. I saw the neighbourhood cat hanging around under the bird feeder late this afternoon so will have to keep an eye out for it - it won't stand a chance.
