Hamlet is a woman

Well, it took me a few minutes to realise that in this outdoor production of Hamlet there were a number of complete role reversals and Hamlet is a woman.
 
The Three Inch Fools is a young touring company ( see extra photo) of five actors and they performed tonight in the spectacular setting of Kilbryde castle, outside Dunblane
 
It’s a long time since I have seen a contemporary interpretation of Shakespeare so I was unaware of this novel trend.
 
We were invited to bring along picnics, chairs and blankets so the whole evening turned into a delightful informal evening.
 
   
It could have been warmer but thankfully there were no midges.
