Wonder what this is

We came across a cotton field where the cotton plants were blooming.  Hard to believe this gorgeous flower will become a cotton boll.    

And who ever had the idea to take that boll and pull it apart until it became a thread and then to take those threads, weave them together to make cloth.   The same thing with the wool from sheep or alpacas.    Imagine if we had to wear tree bark and tanned animal hides!  

Thankful for those people in the past who came up with the technology that provides us with so many things.
