Silly Saturday: Newcastle/Gateshead Blipmeet

Six of us met today for the Newcastle/Gateshead blipmeet. We began with coffee at the Sage (I had cake as well, so it was definitely a proper blipmeet) then I took my main Silly Saturday photograph just outside the Sage, with our silly-mirror type of reflections in the side of an American Airstream caravan converted into a coffee stall. (We're not really that shape!).

While Walkingmarj went to look at the exhibition in the Side Gallery, the rest of us spent an hour looking at the exhibits at the Baltic Centre for Contemporary Art, (Marj had seen them very recently). The silly extra was taken in a mirror inside one of the Baltic exhibitions.

As only Marj's legs are visible in the main blip, and she was absent for the extra, I've added a thumbnail in the corner of the extra showing all of us earlier in the Sage. I'd been trying to balance my camera on a nearby table to do a delayed-action shot of all of the group, but then a chap at the next table kindly offered to take the photo for us. From left to right on the thumbnail photo are:

We then had lunch at the Baltic (riversider had cake), after which Marj sadly had to leave us. I tried to lead the rest of the group on one of the guided trails of the Great North Exhibition, using the app on my phone. That took us on the wrong route (not sure why) so after a while we just made up the rest of our route, ending up at the Lego exhibition at the Mining Institute.

The blipmeet ended with a tea/coffee stop at the Central Station.

Thanks to everyone who came and made it such an enjoyable day - especially to riversider and 60plus who came all the way from Yorkshire to join us. You'll be able to read their own accounts of the day on their blip journals in due course - some are there already as I write this.

(Thanks also, of course, as always to admirer for hosting Silly Saturday.)
