A somewhat disordered morning. Lots of phone calls about an incident at work, as I’m on call this week. Eventually got it sorted, and took the lads out shopping for their mother’s birthday on Tuesday.

Came north this afternoon to see S’ mother, and her brother who is up from the South Island for the weekend. Grabbed a brief window of time and went down before dark fell, and was able to get to about 20m from this Kotare (kingfisher). It only left because another person suddenly appeared coming the other way, briskly and noisily.

Rather pleased with how clear this is despite the low light.
