Eddie Izzard en français

We went to see Eddie Izzard perform tonight. In French. I've seen his show in English and cried from laughing and it translated very well. Though occasionally the French didn't get some of his jokes. For example one about a limerick which only Mairead and I seemed to laugh at. Obviously they're British things. He also kept saying 'so' (I'd noticed before that he used the word a lot) but he kept having to change it to 'donc' or 'ainsi' when he realised his mistake. I've even learnt some new words, such as Spartiate (Spartan) and some of the words from my translation vocab tests appeared too!

The gig was in a tiny theatre on the edge of Montmatre, amongst many sex shops and with the Moulin Rouge just down the road. After seeing the film Amélie I really wanted to visit Montmatre but think I was definitely not in the same area! I'll have a proper explore another day, we were only on the edge of Montmatre after all.

I really like the Metro signs. I do think in this it does look like part of it is some kind of sinister animal though.
