The beginning of harvest

Although T has been harvesting some oilseed rape on someone else's farm, today was the first day of harvest on our farm.  He just combined a few acres, it was fairly high in moisture and the straw was very thin, the grain not quite ripe although drought-stricken.  Here the combine harvester is parked up off the field.

We actually had 10 minutes of steady light rain this evening!
