Privet hawk larva

Having successfully raised my Eyed hawk moths to pupation, I am now raising a batch of Privet hawk  moths. Superficially the Privet hawk moth  Sphinx ligustri larva is very like the Eyed hawk moth except the body stripes are edged with a dramatic dark purple, and in later instars the clasping feet are purple too. All in all a very handsome beast
