Where to

Where shall we travel
What paths are ours
Will they be easy
Or will they have cares
Some lanes have endings
And we must return
Others have branches
Which is our way to turn

You and I will wander
Past field and dark wood
Some we must not enter
While others we should
Some gates are open
Inviting us to enter in
While others are barred
And hospitality is thin

We will wander together
Our paths side by side
And your presence there
I shall note with pride
You have been my support
My companion, my friend
I could not wish for another
My life with whom to spend
