Gretna starlings

I just so happened to be in the Gretna area at dusk so was able to stop off and watch the murmuration of starlings . I only got to see the last 15 minutes or so and as soon as the lamposts came on the colour of the sky changed or rather the camera's white balance!! As you can see they put on their spectacular aerial display over the houses and did eventually roost in what must be the gardens! Hmm bet the gardens will be a bit messy in the morning! There didn't seem to be as many as I've seen before, perhaps there's still more to arrive over the coming winter months.

I will go back again over winter and try and get some better shots. It really is fascinating to watch and I would recommend it if you ever get the chance.
